Aoudad, scientifically known as Ammotragus lervia, is a wild mountain sheep species primarily found in various regions of North Africa. It belongs to the family Bovidae and has distinct physical characteristics that make it easily identifiable. Aoudads typically have a robust physique with males weighing anywhere between 88 to 260 pounds (40 to 120 kilograms) while females usually weigh between 55 to 99 pounds (25 to 45 kilograms). Their most notable feature is their impressive set of curved horns, which can grow up to 33 inches (85 centimeters) in length. The horns are present in both males and females but tend to be larger and more twisted in males.
